Runners will begin their race in Brooklyn next to the Brooklyn Museum. MarathonFoto photographers were on their game for this race as the photos came out spectacularly. This is a great touch that gives runners a heads up on where to look their best. Similar to the NYC Half Marathon is was wonderful to have the MarathonFoto photographers positions pointed out on the course map. There were plenty of porta-potties before the race and strategically positioned throughout the course as well. Water/Gatorade was provided to runners throughout the entire course at fluid stations that were spread out about every two miles for the first half and then every mile after Mile 7. Medical stations were positioned every three miles to support runners and SIS Energy Gels were handed out just before Mile 7. To nobody’s surprise, because it always is, the course was well managed by the NYRR. The corrals were well labeled and also had plenty of volunteers making sure runners were in the correct corral.Įven with the high potential for rain, crowds of spectators showed up with high energy, cow bells, signs, and the loudest cheers they could muster. The security checkpoint and bag check had plenty of security / NYPD and volunteers helping out to make sure that everything went smoothly for the runners. The starting point for runners is always well managed in this race was no exception. Runners experienced a temperature of 58☏ and 93% humidity. The field was made up of 13,606 men, 11,750 women, and 75 non-binary runners.

The running community brought the running field to 25,431 runners this year. Brooklyn shows up with all the excitement, music, and cheers that they can. Not only does the running community show up with large numbers for this race but so does the running spectator community. This half marathon has garnered so much love that it has become the largest half marathon in the United States. The New York Road Runners (NYRR) returned to Brooklyn for the much loved RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon.
